Quality in Study Support (QiSS)
What is QiSS?
The aim of QiSS is to support schools, local authorities and other eucational organisations in raising students' achievement, motivation and self esteem.
The QiSS (Quality in Study Support) recognition scheme provides public recognition that the standards embodied in the DfES Code of Practice for Study Support are being met. This approach to quality assurance involves schools analysing their Study Support provision with the support of a critical friend, producing a portfolio of evidence and presenting this evidence to their peers for scrutiny at a recognition meeting. The schools involved will benefit from
- accessing a framework for self-evaluation
- implementing a nationally recognised quality assurance mechanism
- creating evidence that can be used to achieve other quality models and
- collaboration with other schools in order to share good practice.
